FAITH UMC COMMUNITY MINISTER MANDI RICHEY TO BEGIN JUNE 1 We are delighted to announce that Mandi Richey has been designated by the Austin District of the United Methodist Church as our new Community Minister. The purpose of this ministry is to extend the connection of Faith UMC into the surrounding community as well as expand and engage the presence and leadership of young adults within the congregation. Mandi will build relationships with local schools, including our Faith Pre-school, discerning opportunities for missional engagement with them. She will lead us in building relationships with local businesses and the community groups around us. She will continue with her leadership in worship, including preaching. Finally, she will work with the pastor and the Austin District Director of Mission and Vision, Rachel Wright, that we may align our shared ministries of offering God’s good news to our community. Welcome Mandi. We thank God for sending you to us and look forward to serving with you.

June 3: Pastor David shares a message We Believe in Forgiveness based on Matthew 18:21-22. Music by our Faith Chancel Choir. Holy Communion for all.
June 10: Guest preacher Rob Wheeler. A Little Rock native, Rob has resided in Leander with his wife Cindy for 28 years. He is a Baylor graduate with a degree in Economics and professionally is a Certified Financial Planner. He also devotes time to the Cedar Park High School mentoring special needs students. Rob enjoys family activities which includes coaching his two granddaughters’ soccer teams. He and his wife Cindy have three daughters and seven grandchildren. Rob and Cindy are members Rolling Hills Community Church in Lago Vista where he serves as Chairman of the Stewardship and Finance Committee. He was appointed as a Lay Speaker in 2009. He also has the grand distinction of being Judy Loehr’s brother.

BAGS OF GRACE MISSION PROJECT—SIGN UP TODAY Saturday, June 2 at 1 p.m. help assemble “Bags of Grace” in Willenberg Hall. Bags of Grace can be given to anyone who is thirsty and needs physical and spiritual nourishment. The Living Well Committee and the Men of Faith are making all of the preparations for this ministry – all that is needed are some helping hands to put the items in the bags. This is a rewarding group activity for all to enjoy. More details will be provided as we get closer to the date. THANK YOU CHERYL / WELCOME JILL After more than three decades leading the Faith UMC Pre-school, Cheryl Smithers is retiring at the end of May. Please join us in our prayers of gratitude for Cheryl’s ministry with thousands of children who have been blessed by her leadership and her teaching. In June we welcome Jill Varnell as the new school director. We’re actually welcoming Jill back to Faith; she spent many years serving in our pre-school both as teacher and Assistant Director. Thank you Cheryl. Welcome Jill.
CLOTHES CLOSET AND FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS NEEDED Put any clothing, in good condition, into the “Clothes Closet” basket on the entry table in the Foyer. Put food donations in the “Food Pantry” basket. Needed items: canned foods, cereal, dried beans, rice, baby food, canned meats, boxed juice and boxed meals.
